Picnic In The Park
July 30, 2007
It's been almost two years since I've been to TCBC for a Sunday service. This weekend, my dad mentioned that they were having a picnic in the park to celebrate their 40th anniversary. I thought this might be a good time to show up again. We got up nice and early but left the house a little late after getting all of LG's things together.
He spent the morning in the nursery with poh poh while Andrew and I went to service. After, we picked up LG and ended up catching up with a whole lot of people. We made our way to Chapters for a bit of reading and stuff, mostly just to kill time. LG has a new love for Elmo "eh-mo" and grabbed just about anything Elmo.
Around lunch time, it was time to go to the picnic! We walked to Grange Park and saw a whole sea of (Chinese) people. We had a good time, talking with people, eating free food (haha) and just relaxing. LG got lots of balloons from people and walked back and forth through the ropes set up for an obstacle course because he figured he could lift the rope above his head to get through.
Then, he saw the wading pool. Oh mi goodness. At first, he played with the water, splashing it with a stick. Then, he decided he wanted to get in. Unfortunately, I hadn't planned for him to get wet today so we didn't have his swimmers, but we did bring extra clothes. So, we let him wander around the pool, playing and splashing until he was completely soaked. After that, it was time to call it a day. We dried him off and gave him fresh clothes then we said our goodbyes and headed to the car.
What a nice way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon.
