Nathan's 3!
March 30, 2009
Nathan turned three, three days ago, and this is what we did...
Since it was still his March Break, Nathan got to sleep in. It was bright and sunny and he woke up happy. Morning festivities included opening a birthday card he had gotten from his class (filled with his classmates' signatures) and then a really awesome present from Yee-Yee Chris - a Cars poster, a Cars shirt and a Curious George book, with a handmade card.
We had lunch at Swiss Chalet (his choice), where he got his usual - chicken strips with corn on the side and a cup of apple juice. He finished the entire thing (for the first time) and got vanilla ice cream for dessert.
Then, Nathan picked out his own cake at a Chinese bakery. (It has become apparent to me that aside from a Chinese bakery, I wouldn't know where to get a birthday cake!) He chose a strawberry chiffon cake, of all things. So we put the cake in the car and Nathan took a nap while mommy and daddy went to get some more Indian food (yum!).
When we got home, Nathan got a birthday call from Jasmine and then it was time to get ready for dinner. We headed out to Gojima with Andrew's side of the family and had a feast. It was followed by cake and tea at Grandma and Grandpa's place where Nathan received a couple more presents.
Nathan ended off his third birthday with an awesome treasure hunt around the house. At the end, he found Scaredy Squirrel at night* with an aquadoodle mat.
*A book might not sound like an exciting birthday present for a three-year-old, but the SS series is Nathan's favourite. And the teeth on the cover glow in the dark. What more could you ask for?
