Imported

January 17, 2008

One of the best things I loved about Hong Kong was its availability of a huge selection of random things (read: food), especially things imported from different parts of the world. At one point, I stood in a grocery store in their chocolate section (that's right, chocolate section - not candy section) where I faced chocolates from all over Europe, Australia and South America. They have all these things that you would simply never find here in Canada.

I only mention this because I've been searching high and low for Crispy M&Ms and Vanilla Coke. Both of them are apparently no longer available in Canada. However, I was able to find them in HK but stupid me, I only bought one can of Vanilla Coke (because Andrew whined when I said I wanted to buy a case) and two small packs of Crispy M&Ms (because stupidly I convinced myself that I'd buy more later, which I didn't). Now, I have to ration. Why, why, WHY do they not sell these things in Canada anymore?!

Tell me about it. There are so many random British goodies that I dream about on a regular basis that just aren't available here. I did find a website that will ship pretty much anything to you direct from the UK....but they want 22 pounds to do it! Ha! Don't think so...
