Seattle 2010

June 13, 2010

I know, I know, I've been a lazy blogger lately and I ask of your forgiveness, readers.

However, we have a lot of big things happening here at the Tsoi household, all of which I will share with you shortly. But for now, I leave you with a couple photos and a quick recap from our recent trip to Seattle!

We were invited down to celebrate our good friends' wedding at the end of May. Nathan was asked to be the ring-bearer and we were overjoyed to accept that responsibility.

A lot of our flights leave early in the morning, as the sun's rising. Makes for nice pictures but sometimes it takes a toll on our bodies. And it's got Nathan thinking that we like sneaking away in the middle of the night!

We arrived a couple days early so we could be at the rehearsal and let Nathan get to know the little flower girls a little bit. They got along so well, so quickly! The soon-to-be-married couple so generously gifted Nathan a race car - one he had to paint and assemble. So we set up his "workshop" at the desk in our hotel room and let him go wild.

It was really rainy and cold the entire time we were down there. Coming from sunny and hot Toronto, we were a little unprepared clothing-wise so for most of the trip, we stayed indoors. In the hotel, in the mall, in the car. Anywhere that protected us from rain and cold.

We did manage to wander out to the Pike Place Market for a little bit. We ended up getting there just in time for breakfast and we found a little crepe place that was just opening its doors for the day, so we quickly stepped inside and ordered two huge, yummy crepes for breakfast. We walked around for a little bit but my feet got too cold. I'm not sure why I thought wearing flip flops would be a good idea that day.

And this is as close as we got to the Space Needle. At least, I think that's the Space Needle.

When we got back to the hotel, it was just about time to get ready for the wedding. The only pictures we took that night as a family were done in the hotel bathroom.

Nathan's such a dork.

This is the only close-up picture we have of Nathan and the flower girls. (If there's anyone out there with better pictures, send them our way! Please and thank you.) Nathan did such a nice job. He walked down the aisle nice and slowly and tried to look forward the entire time. He told me during the ceremony that at first, he was nervous, but it was okay. I'm so proud of him!

As his "reward", we got him a Lego sports car which he asked Andrew to put together during the break between ceremony and reception. We found our own little spot - right in the telephone booth. Good thing no one uses those phones anymore!

We had a great time at the reception.

The boys really enjoyed the decorations.

A lot.
