Go Gecko Go!

January 15, 2011

I was sitting in my bed today, minding my own business, feeding little Caleb when all of a sudden, I saw a dark figure out of the corner of my eye. The dark figure moved quickly across the wall beside me and at once I realized it was a gecko!

Immediately, I yelled "Sound the alarm! Our security has been breached! Wildlife has made its way into our home!"

The humongous gecko inched closer and closer towards me. I couldn't move. Poor little Caleb was still eating. There was no way I could manoeuvre him and myself away from the gecko fast enough without interrupting Caleb's eating.

Andrew rushed in to see what the commotion was all about but once he set eyes on the gecko, he ran out of the room screaming.

I was left all alone. It was just me and Caleb against the gecko. This giant, humongous, mutated-because-of-the-flood gecko.

After a short while, when Caleb and I had finally made our way out of the danger zone, Andrew gingerly crept back into the room, caught the gecko in a paper bag and set it free, back into the wild, on the other side of our balcony screen door.

just so everyone knows, bernice took some creative liberties with this story. i did NOT run out of the room screaming. it was more of a yell.

the screaming was when the gecko fell off the ceiling towards our bed and i had to try to catch it mid-air in a paper bag (which i did successfully of course.)
